Business start-ups

Starting a business can be a scary prospect – but don’t worry we are here to help you get your venture off the ground.

We have set up over 1000 new businesses in the last 10 years alone – small businesses just like yours.  So we know the pitfalls!  As well as our core accounting, bookkeeping and taxation services, we will also be able to offer you specialist help given the vast range of our client’s trades.

Of course, we will ensure you adopt best practice accounting procedures and we even offer access to the award-winning Kashflow online system to make your bookkeeping a doddle

Initial and year round support and advice from just one Partner

Many local accountancy firms delegate responsibility for day to day client advice to managers, once signed up, but Who do you want to speak to when you’ve got a crisis or a challenge, you have a tax enquiry, capital investment or need an experienced opinion?

We believe one fairly unique difference about Hanley & Co Accountants is that all work for clients, small or large, is overseen by our experienced Partner, Dean Logan FCA.  Dean deals with all clients, whether new or long established and will continue to deal with them throughout their time with Hanley & Co Chartered Accountants.  We believe our practical abilities, built over 30 years experience, can offer invaluable advice, promptly, as and when you need it.

Business plan and structure

We can initially look at helping you with developing your business plan, raising the funds for your new venture and advise on the correct structure of your business, whether it is more advantageous to be: Sole trader / Partnership / Limited Company / LLP / A mix of these.  We will explain clearly the differences between the various options, calculate any tax savings, and make clear the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

Company Formation

If you decide to go with a limited company, or an LLP, we will use our own efficient company formation agents to arrange the Incorporation, within just 24 hours. For more information about how we can help with company formations click here.

All our initial advice before you set up in business is free. If you decide to go ahead, we will quote a nominal fee to cover our costs of the Incorporation and all the initial work to get you ‘up and running’. This will include completion of all the relevant paperwork, advice concerning Directors and Shareholders, helping you with opening a bank account (often a lengthy task with various security checks etc), and help with obtaining your VAT and PAYE registration where necessary (again, a lengthy task with identity checks).

We see this work as an investment – if we exceed your expectations from the outset and you have a friend, neighbour or contact setting up in business – we hope you will recommend Hanley & Co Chartered Accountants.
