Our Team of Experts
At Hanley & Co, we believe that great service starts with great people. Our team brings together decades of experience in accountancy and tax and business advice.
Everything we do is delivered with a personal and down-to-earth approach, in line with our motto that we are ‘Accountants You Can Talk To’.
We are proud to be a friendly, family-run practice. Many of our clients have been with us for years, and we believe that comes down to one thing: trust. When you work with Hanley & Co, you are building a relationship with people who genuinely care about your success.
All our team are based in the North West of England and very experienced and qualified. We are very proud that most of our team have been with us for 15-25 years. You will find them to be friendly, knowledgeable and pro-active.
Gina Epps, ACA
Partner
Gina heads up our team and is the main partner responsible all client and practice management matters, working out of both our Ashton-under-Lyne and Blackpool and Fylde offices.
As Dean and Ann’s daughter, it’s fair to say she grew up in the practice from a young age. Gina officially joined Hanley & Co full time in 2008 after graduating from Lancaster University with a degree in Business Studies and she qualified as an ACCA accountant in 2013 and is now a proud member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). She’s also completed various specialist personal, corporate and VAT tax exams at ACCA and CTA level.
Dean Logan, FCA
Partner
Dean has over 40 years of experience in providing accountancy services and advice to a wide range of small to medium businesses and personal clients. He qualified with a degree in Economics from University of Manchester and subsequently worked with several Big 4 firms in Manchester in the 1980’s. He is a Fellow of ICAEW. He and Ann took over Hanley & Co in 1990 and they coined the key value and motto ‘Accountants You Can Talk To’. Dean continues to work part-time at Hanley & Co, working with key Limited Companies.
Francesca
Accountant
Francesca is a bubbly and passionate AAT qualified accountant and she joined Hanley & Co in 2021. She acts for a wide range of businesses, preparing bookkeeping, management and statutory accounts and VAT Returns. She is also responsible for liaising with Companies House and several of our key software providers. Francesca is passionate about moving the practice forwards with the latest developments and requirements, and she is skilled at managing our relationships with our software providers like Quickbooks and Link My Books.
Michael
Accountant
Michael joined Hanley & Co in 2002 on our apprenticeship scheme and completed his AAT qualification. Michael prides himself on building excellent, long standing relationships with the clients he deals with and he now has over 20 year’s experience in preparing accounts and VAT Returns for a wide range of businesses from small sole traders up to £1m Limited Companies. In particular, he is our VAT Champion at Hanley & Co and so he is responsible for our VAT service, and ensuring we’re all updated with the latest VAT developments and legislation.
Paul
Accountant
Paul joined Hanley & Co in 2001 on our apprenticeship scheme and completed his AAT and ACCA qualifications. Paul specialises in preparing complex accounts for our larger Limited Companies of turnover up to the audit threshold. Paul is a professional and diligent point of contact for his clients and is our in-house expert on Companies House disclosures and technical queries.
Nicola
Accountant
Nicola is an ACCA qualified accountant and joined Hanley & Co in 2021. Nicola is friendly and professional and works closely with her Limited Company clients. She is passionate about identifying opportunities to develop our processes in-house to help us continue to provide the highest quality service to our clients.
Rachel
Customer Service
Rachel joined Hanley & Co in 2015 with a varied and valuable background in accounts and customer service. She oversees our sole trader clients and the onboarding of all our new clients, and she works closely with Gina, focussing on the quality of our service.
Jordan
Tax Advisor
Jordan joined our team in 2025 and has already had a big impact on our Practice with his cheerful and professional can-do attitude. Jordan manages our Making Tax Digital for Income Tax service for those of our sole traders and landlords who are mandated to join HMRC’s new scheme and he also prepares tax returns and gives tax advice for a small portfolio of personal tax clients.
Tracy
Accounts Senior
Tracy joined our team in 2020 with a wealth of experience in Practice and Industry. She is really friendly and organised so that new and existing clients alike feel comfortable working closely with her on a day-to-day basis. Tracy works mostly on Limited Company clients, supporting their bookkeeping, accounts and VAT compliance requirements.
